Job Description
- Manage the direct and indirect tax compliances
- Collaborate with and support of the Accounting team for required or requested data
- Coordinate with the Tax counsel for tax advisory and opinion; Prepare the facts for business cases, opinions and necessary paperwork for the company
- Handle advance tax payments
- Perform WHT compliances, monthly tax payments, quarterly return filings
- Perform GST compliances, monthly tax payment, monthly return filing (GSTR 1, GSTR 3B with 2A & 2B reconciliations, GST ITC recon, Reversal of Non-eligible ITC, etc.
- Perform income and deferred tax computation as per India books and consolidation books
- File ROC and FEMA FLA returns
- Maintain and file STPI Softex, MPR and Audited APR filings
- Support to manager in tax audits, assessments with tax authorities and work papers for:
- Income tax audit (Form 3CA CD)
- Income tax (income computation and return) filings
- Transfer pricing audit and return (Form 3CEB) filing
- Master form filing (Form 3CEAA)
- GST audit and annual return (Form9 and Form 9C)
- Under the guidance and training provided, the expected Key Result Areas (KRAs) would include:
- Support US indirect tax filings and Europe VAT/GST filings
- Support the tax team on ad hoc projects as needed
- Prepare country filings as requested
- During tax season, workloads can spike drastically
WHAT YOU VE DONE:
- Degree preferred or equivalent years of practical job experience in a similar function
- 4+ years experience in tax compliance
- CA Inter having fair knowledge of accounting processes to identify tax issues
- Must have a deep understanding of Tax Laws and Regulations; This skill involves staying up to date with the latest tax code changes, understanding the nuances of tax law and its application
- Analytical skills are essential to interpret complex financial data and legal texts
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information to diverse audiences
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage incoming deliverables
- Must exhibit exceptional diligence to avoid errors that could result in financial penalties or legal repercussions
- The ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines and still maintain high-quality work is an invaluable soft skill expected
- The ability to produce innovative solutions in a timely and efficient manner will reflect positively
