It Support Intern

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to end-users within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. User Support:
   
• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Respond to user queries via phone, email, or in-person within agreed timelines.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Operating system installation in both laptop & desktop.
2. Hardware and Software Maintenance:
   
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and hardware.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades for systems and software.
• Manage inventory of IT assets, including desktops, laptops, and related equipment.
3. Network Support:
   
• Assist in troubleshooting basic network issues, including connectivity and VPN access.
• Coordinate with the network team for escalated issues or complex configurations.
• Basic Firewall Knowledge & Configuration.
• All Network related Device knowledge
4. System Administration:
   
• Ensure proper installation and functioning of antivirus software and updates.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in coordination with the IT team.
5. Incident Tracking and Reporting:
   
• Maintain logs of technical issues and resolutions in a ticketing system.
• Analyze recurring issues and provide recommendations to improve IT operations.
6. IT Support Training:
   
• Provide training to users on basic troubleshooting techniques and IT best practices.
• Create and maintain documentation for standard IT processes and troubleshooting guides.
7. Compliance and Security:
   
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
• Monitor and address potential security vulnerabilities on user devices.
8. Other Duties:
   
• Assist with IT projects, including rollouts and upgrades.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware repair and maintenance.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Education: Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Familiarity with Office 365, Active Directory, and remote desktop tools.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Knowledge of hardware components and IT peripherals.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
