Read and interpret manufacturing drawings to verify that all products meet dimensions, ensure welding complies with the nominated standards, verify painting, powder coating, and HDG as per specifications, and confirm that the finished product is marked, stickered, and packaged according to AT-PAC requirements.
Submit inspection records, reports and communicate the results, in accordance with Company procedures and as directed.
Collaborates with suppliers to resolve non-conformance reports (NCRs) by leading a logical root cause analysis procedure and then recommending and implementing corrective and preventative measures as part of that team.
Conduct in-process inspections and pre-shipment inspections, in accordance with procedures, independent of supplier representatives.
Review and approve raw material certificates (MTCs) & Lab TC to ensure material compliance as required.
Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ, and monitor welding activities performed according to WPS. Conduct welder qualifications.
Review and witness NDT examinations such as VT, PT, and MT for welded joints.
Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
Maintaining and ensuring the calibration inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy.
Drive safety regulations and good work practices among workers.
Assist with ESG implementation and compliance, as well as monitoring procedures and systems and recommend improvements when opportunities arise to ensure continual improvement and reduce risk.
Qualifications
College degree or higher, preferably BE in Mechanical Engineering.
VT2 or similar weld inspection certificate.
NDT Level 2 certification in VT2, MPT2, and DPT2 (mandatory), with UT2 and RT2 (optional).
Minimum 5 years proven work experience as a Fabrication Inspector or similar role.
Excellent knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes and safety standards related to Formwork and scaffolding, or the automotive industry, or a similar industry.
Demonstration ability to conduct IPQC, DUPRO, PSI or FRI inspection independently using inspection criteria.
Ability to read manufacturing drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria; welding knowledge is a must. Knowledge of ISO, ASME, and EN standards is required.
Strong mechanical and technical skills.
Use computer skilfully, especially MS Office software and report preparation.
Attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
