Credit Controller

Role & responsibilities

1. Credit Control and Collection:
• Manage the companys accounts receivable, including the timely collection of outstanding invoices.
• Monitor and review customer accounts to ensure payments are received on time.
• Communicate with clients regarding overdue payments and negotiate payment terms when necessary.
• Follow up on late payments via calls, emails, or letters to ensure prompt settlement.
2. Invoice Management:
• Prepare and send invoices to customers accurately and on time.
• Ensure all billing information is correct and up-to-date.
• Resolve discrepancies or disputes related to invoices promptly.
3. Credit Management:
• Assess and review customer credit limits and payment terms.
• Conduct credit checks for new customers and update credit profiles as needed.
• Maintain and enforce the companys credit policies and procedures.
4. Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions and customer interactions.
• Prepare and present regular reports on aged debtors, collection activities, and cash flow forecasts.
• Provide management with regular updates on the status of overdue accounts and potential risks.
5. Account Reconciliation:
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers and ensure consistency with general ledger balances.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between accounts receivable and accounts payable.
6. Collaboration:
• Work closely with the sales team to address customer queries, issues, or concerns.
• Assist with internal audits and other finance-related activities as required.
• Coordinate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure proper documentation and reporting.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in credit control for a large or multinational organization.
• Knowledge of local and international credit control regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Previous experience in managing a small team (if applicable).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
