DM/Manager- Civil Steel Structure

Job Purpose:

The Steel Structure Civil Execution Manager will oversee the execution of civil and steel structure works in the real estate development projects. This includes the planning, design, and construction of steel structures, ensuring all work complies with project specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Execution & Management:
• Lead and manage the steel structure civil execution team from project inception to completion.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate the execution of all steel structure activities including fabrication, erection, and installation.
• Monitor construction progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure quality standards and compliance with architectural, structural, and safety specifications.
• Collaboration & Coordination:
• Work closely with project managers, architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of steel structure works.
• Facilitate coordination between on-site teams and other departments (e.g., procurement, design, quality control).
• Attend regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and plan for the next phases of the project.
• Technical Oversight:
• Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and construction methods for steel structures.
• Ensure proper material selection and timely procurement of steel and other construction materials.
• Quality Control & Safety:
• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and relevant building codes and standards (e.g., IS codes, Eurocodes).
• Implement safety protocols and monitor site activities to minimize risks, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure that construction work is in line with approved plans and specifications.
• Cost Control:
• Monitor project costs and ensure that work is completed within the allocated budget.
• Report on project expenses and work with the finance team to manage financial performance.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-effective solutions for materials and execution processes.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of all steel structure work, including progress reports, inspection logs, and material certifications.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting milestones, risks, and issues.
• Document changes to the scope of work and prepare change orders when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 7-15 years of experience in steel structure construction management, preferably in real estate or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale real estate or commercial projects involving steel structures.
• Hands-on experience with steel fabrication, erection, and installation processes.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of steel structure design, construction, and materials.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with different stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
