Senior Scala Backend Engineer - Scala REST API AWS Docker

DivIni (www.divinisoft.com) is looking for a Senior Scala Backend Engineer to work on a project for our premium US based client to build the Cloud Based trade lifecycle platform.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Software Engineer to join an established development team responsible for trade lifecycle and to contribute to the growth of the platform. This team also handles outbound trade flow to prime brokers, administrators and also forms a key part of the onboarding process for new clients. We would expect the developer to work on the applications that interface with central position keeping system. In the longer-term, the successful applicant will also be able to work on other applications that interface with central position keeping system around trade flow and external connectivity to a wide variety of execution platforms.

We use Scrum and other Agile practices, and are looking for a Senior Scala Backend Engineer who is dynamic, motivated and a self-starter to join our team. We have challenging work, believe in motivating each other and in having a great team.

Requirements

* 3 to 8 years of real-world experience developing enterprise software applications

* At least 3+ years of solid experience with Scala

* Good understanding of Functional programming

* Experience developing RESTful Microservices

* Experience with Akka Framework

* Experience working with Relational Databases (SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL etc.,)

* Experience with cloud based systems (AWS, Azure etc.,)

* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

* Experience with Test Driven Development using ScalaTest, Mockito

* Experience working with sbt or Maven

* Experience with Git and CI/CD

* Excellent communication skills and able to communicate clearly with project stakeholders

* Significant experience in the design and implementation of complex cloud based systems

* Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

Responsibilities

* Develop, maintain, and enhance REST APIs, distributed services, and databases supporting trade lifecycle platform

* Design and architect the solution, approach and work with the team in delivering a clean and scalable solution

* Interact with subject matter experts to translate business requirements into detailed design

* Involved in new integration projects with prospective and existing clients

* Review code developed by other team members

* Collaborate with QA on design and implementation of manual and automated test processes

* Seek opportunities to improve quality and efficiency from ideation to deployment

* Follow Agile development processes, coding standards, and methodologies

* Perform a variety of tasks, and adapts to working on application which is unfamiliar

* Creative ideas are suggested to solve problems

Additional Preferred skills

* Experience working in Spring Boot with Scala

* Experience with Scalaz or Cats

* Experience with Reactive streams or FS2

* Experience with Slick

* Experience working with Unix/Linux systems

* Experience with FIX protocol/FpML/QuickFixJ

* Financial knowledge and understanding of the trade lifecycle would be considered an advantage

* Exposure to SCRUM or other Agile development practices
