Job Description
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux server operating systems and associated software applications
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to ensure high availability and performance of Linux servers
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on Linux servers
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls
- Conduct regular system backups and implement disaster recovery procedures
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization, optimizing server performance through configuration tuning and capacity planning
- Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement server infrastructure upgrades and expansions
- Respond to and resolve user requests and incidents related to Linux server operations
- Maintain documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Stay updated with the latest Linux server technologies, security vulnerabilities, and best practices
- Requirements:Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role
- Proficiency in Linux server administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- In-depth knowledge of Linux server operating systems (eg, Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat)
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (eg, VMware, KVM) and containerization (eg, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, TCP/IP, and network security concepts
- Experience with server monitoring and management tools (eg, Nagios, Zabbix)Knowledge of scripting languages (eg
- , Bash, Python) for automation and task scheduling
- Understanding of system backup and recovery processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and end-users
- Optional, but desirable:Certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or LPIC (Linux Professional Institute Certification)
- Experience with cloud platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (eg, Ansible, Puppet)
- Knowledge of web servers (eg, Apache, Nginx) and database management systems (eg, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
