Devops Engineer

Job Summary:

The DevOps Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure, tools, and processes that enable efficient software development, deployment, and operations. This role bridges development and IT operations, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of critical systems.

Job Responsibility:

• Maintain and monitor cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes).
• Automate system provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Create a hosting environment for project deployment in the cloud specially in AWS and GCP.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment failures to ensure smooth releases.
• Set up and manage monitoring tools (e.g.,Grafana, Nagios) to ensure system health and performance.
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
• Work closely with developers to support application deployments and improve processes.
• Assist teams in adopting DevOps best practices and tools.
• Implement and enforce security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Identify bottlenecks in development and operations workflows and recommend solutions.
• Research and adopt new tools and technologies to improve system efficiency and reliability.

Specification / Skills / Experience:

In addition to possessing good communication skills, being self-motivated, internet-savvy, focused on delivery and paying attention to detail, the candidate should have excellent knowledge and experience in the following technologies/areas:

Primary skills (Must have):

• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for managing and scaling infrastructure.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application management.
• Version Control Systems: Expertise in Bitbucket or similar systems for version control and collaboration.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI for building and deploying applications.
• Infrastructure Automation: Proficiency in tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet for Infrastructure as Code.
• Scripting and Programming: Strong skills in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and task execution.
• Monitoring and Logging: Knowledge of tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for system health and performance monitoring.
• Operating Systems: Strong understanding of Linux and Windows system administration

Secondary skills (Nice to have):

• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer,Google Cloud DevOps Engineer).
• Azure DevOps
• Experience with database management and optimization (SQL, NoSQL).
