The Opportunity

Digit88 is expanding its team to collaborate with a Germany-based partner specializing in renewable energy and environmental markets. This partner assists companies in achieving their environmental goals through comprehensive advisory, trading, and origination services, offering market knowledge, digital tools, and a vast network of renewable and carbon-related commodity suppliers. The current opportunity focuses on product development, aiming to enhance and expand the partner's suite of digital tools and platforms that support their environmental market services.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems using Go, ensuring seamless integration with our renewable energy and environmental market solutions.
• Infrastructure Management: Utilize AWS services and Terraform to build and manage infrastructure as code, ensuring reliability and scalability of our platforms.
• Database Management: Develop and optimize SQL databases to handle large datasets efficiently, supporting our data-driven applications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and frontend developers, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Code Quality: Implement best practices in coding, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality codebases.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on SQL databases.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Go programming language.
• Proven experience in infrastructure management using AWS services and Terraform.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Go programming and its ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of SQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS) and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in the renewable energy or environmental markets sector.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
