Manager - Packaging Development

Looking for incumbents having experience in in packaging design, development, and implementation within FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Consumer Goods industries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Packaging Development:
• Design and develop packaging solutions that align with product requirements, consumer preferences, and brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the feasibility and functionality of designs.
2. Material Selection & Cost Optimization:
• Evaluate and recommend suitable packaging materials, such as plastics, paper, or glass, based on product protection and cost considerations.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or performance.
3. Project Coordination:
• Manage medium-to-large packaging projects, coordinating with R&D, marketing, procurement, and production teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Ensure smooth execution of packaging changes during product launches or redesigns.
4. Quality Control & Testing:
• Conduct packaging performance tests during project evaluations.
• Identify and resolve any packaging issues or defects through root cause analysis.
5. Sustainability Initiatives:
• Contribute to sustainability goals by exploring eco-friendly materials and designs.
• Implement light weighting, recyclability, and biodegradability practices in packaging solutions.
6. Vendor & Supplier Collaboration:
• Work closely with packaging suppliers to source materials, develop prototypes, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform supplier evaluations and audits to maintain quality standards.
7. Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure packaging meets industry and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).
• Maintain detailed records of packaging specifications, testing reports, and approvals.
8. Innovation & Trend Monitoring:
• Stay updated on emerging packaging technologies and market trends.
• Incorporate innovative designs and technologies to enhance product appeal and functionality.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Packaging Technology.
