Desktop Support Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows/Linux/macOS operating systems.
• Maintain and upgrade desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, and IT security policies.
• Assist in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Perform software installations, updates, and patch management.
• Document IT incidents, solutions, and procedures for future reference.
• Coordinate with vendors for IT asset procurement and maintenance.
• Support IT infrastructure and ensure minimum downtime for business operations.

Preferred candidate profile

• 2-5 years of experience in desktop support & networking.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux/macOS environments.
• Hands-on experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop tools.
• Experience with firewall configurations, routers, and switch management is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• IT certifications like CCNA, CompTIA A+, or MCSA will be an added advantage.
