Reporting to: Head of Data Science & AI

Desired Qualification: An MBA or a similar business-oriented degree, preferably with specialization in analytics, strategy, or supply chain management.

Required experience range: 10 to 12+ years

Targeted industry: Any (Logistics preferred)

Location: Mumbai

Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Head of Analytics to lead our analytics department and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. As the Head of Analytics, you will oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large sets of data to provide strategic insights that support key business objectives. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to shape the data strategy and ensure that analytics are embedded in every aspect of the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Lead the analytics team, setting vision, goals, and performance standards.

- Partner with senior management and department heads to define analytics strategy, identify opportunities for data-driven insights, and support business objectives.

- Develop and communicate a data strategy aligned with business needs and technological capabilities.

- Expertise in understanding market dynamics and translating analytics into business outcomes.

Data Strategy & Infrastructure:

- Oversee the development and execution of data collection, management, and reporting strategies.

- Ensure data infrastructure and tools (e.g., databases, BI tools, cloud platforms) are aligned with company needs and support scalable, efficient analytics.

- Champion data governance and data quality standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing analytics team (business analysts, data analyst and data engineers).

- Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge sharing within the analytics team.

- Hire and retain top talent in data analytics, machine learning, and data engineering.

Advanced Analytics & Insights:

- Lead the development of advanced analytical models, algorithms, and statistical techniques (predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics).

- Drive key insights from data analysis to inform decision-making across all levels of the organization.

- Support business operations with data-backed recommendations that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

- Drive innovation in analytics methods, tools, and processes to ensure the company stays at the cutting edge of data science.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or a similar business-oriented degree, preferably with specialization in analytics, strategy, or supply chain management.

- 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proven track record of managing and scaling high-performing analytics teams.

- Experience working with senior leadership to drive strategic decisions through data.

- Strong background in advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning, predictive modelling, and statistical analysis.

- Solution-oriented: Ensure they are not just great at finding insights but also at using them to solve business problems.

- Given your company's focus on global interactions and team collaborations, hire someone comfortable with different work cultures and communication styles.

- It's crucial to consider candidates with prior exposure to global or regional analytics roles, preferably with experience in large-scale logistics, supply chain optimization, or customer experience.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, or SQL.

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and business intelligence platforms.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).

- Deep knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.

Soft Skills:

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning abilities.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and manage a diverse team.
