Procurement Head - Packaging Materials & Foils - ( Pharmaceutical )

Role & responsibilities :

As the Purchase Head at Delius Pharma, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process for all packaging materials, with a strong focus on the purchase and import of aluminum foils.

You will manage an ongoing procurement of 100 tons of foil per month to support our internal production needs.

Your role includes sourcing high-quality foils from trusted suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring timely delivery while adhering to strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing end-to-end procurement of pharma-grade foil for blister and alu-alu packaging.

Importing foils from domestic and international vendors, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with over 30 foil suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.

Managing a monthly procurement budget of ₹3-4 crores.

Monitoring inventory levels to ensure smooth production without overstocking or shortages.

Collaborating closely with internal teams to forecast demand and plan procurement strategies.

Overseeing logistics, shipments, and supply chain processes for timely delivery of foils.

Preferred candidate profile :

We are looking for a Procurement Expert with a strong background in packaging materials, specifically in the pharmaceutical industry, and extensive expertise in foil procurement. The ideal candidate should:

Be a foil master, with in-depth knowledge of aluminum foils used in pharmaceutical packaging, including blister and alu-alu strips.

Have experience in managing the procurement of 100 tons of foil per month, handling a procurement budget of ₹3-4 crores.

Existing Old strong relationships with at least 30 suppliers of foil, with a well-established network in Germany and other European countries for foil imports.

Be well-versed in quality standards and quality control for foils, including understanding foil breakdowns and the cut pocket issues that can affect product quality.

Have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale procurement and negotiating favorable terms with vendors to ensure cost efficiency and supply reliability.

The ideal candidate must possess strong vendor management skills, the ability to handle high-value procurement efficiently, and a vast network within the foil and packaging industry.
