Role Title: Head Technical Services

Position Overview:

To ensure smooth operation of plant in terms of production, safety & efficiency without any deviations. Conceptualization of green field & brown field project with technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring Plant performance & deviation

2. CAPEX & Proposal preparation and support in execution.

3. Lab demo & plant trials

4. MOC (Management of change control)

5. FIR-FAR

6. HAZOP study

7. PSSR

8. Utility efficiency monitoring & improvement

9. Coordination with other departments

10. MIS Preparation

The role will focus primarily on the technical services activities

The activities performed by the incumbent include:

Responsibility area 1 (Plant Performance and Deviation Monitoring)

• Analysis and review of daily plant operating data.
• Analysis and review of plant deviation data
• Corrective action for performance improvement if required & monitoring after modification
• Norms & efficiency monitoring
• Troubleshooting of existing problems
• Initiate/review MOC as per the plant requirement so as to Increase production, Improve efficiency, Quality, safety, Reliability etc. Prepare necessary schematics, P&IDs, data sheets, plot plan etc and highlight the changes w.r.t. to original P&IDs, documents.
• Plant debottlenecking based on daily plant operating data and plant deviation data. Guiding to production or utility department to raise MOC as per suggested corrective action.
• Commissioning of plant trials & performance monitoring
• Finalize budgeted specific consumption norms for RM and utilities, monitor actual consumption variance on regular basis and suggest action plan where ever there are deviations.

Responsibility area 2 (Data and MIS)

• Finalization and review of monthly MIS report
• Finalization and review of monthly technical services report.

Responsibility area 3 (CAPEX & Proposal preparation)

• Review of equipment offers and drawing
• Inspection of equipment and instruments.
• Identifying area of improvement and workout it. Preparation of detailed proposal and discussion with management for approval and implementation.
• Capex proposal preparation for existing process modification or new project.
• Preparation of CAPEX Proposals with payback as per the process improvement/ energy /utility improvements time to time as and when required

Responsibility area 4 (Technology Updation)

• Identifying area of improvement and working on it. Preparation of detailed proposal and discussion with management for approval and implementation.
• New technology update and evaluation with respect to requirement, introduction and implementation of new technology.
• Attending Internal and external training for better efficiency and improvement of work quality. Learning form training is to be shared with team and also with concern department
• ISO documentation , facing internal as well as external audit and participating as an internal auditor in audit

Responsibility area 5 (Audit and Review)

• Review energy consumption and make action plan for energy conservation measures
• Review SOP and operating parameters and approving.
• Review material of construction for frequently failing/corroding equipment and pipelines.
• Carry out Hazop and PHA and technical audits for new as well existing plants as per requirements
• Interact with Business group to develop new value added products and value addition to by-products.
• Prepare and review plot plans, P&Ids, data sheets etc for development of new products. Play active role along with BG, R&D, Plant, etc in project/MOC implementation from concept to commissioning.
• Conceptualize and Prepare BEP and other technical documents for the new projects as well as the improvement projects including P&ID, PFD, List of Equipment, List of instrument, Data sheet of equipment, instrument, layout, SOP , Hazop.

Education Qualification: B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Chemical engineering.

Minimum experience of 15-20 years in Process engineering/Technical services in a Chemical manufacturing company.
