Senior Category Manager - Marketplace

Profile: An intrapreneur with around 8-12 years experience at the D2C (sports brand) side who is passionate about spreading the benefits of sports, representing Decathlon India among the leadership teams of top marketplaces. The individual should possess strong business acumen and be capable of driving business growth. As someone leading this, you will be expected to demonstrate the following abilities:

• Category Management skills to decide the offer as per each platform and work on the commercial plan.
• High ownership to plan and deliver the business goals.
• Proficient analytical skills, with a strong ability in data analysis and market research.
• Strong prioritization skills with ability to balance partners experience with business priorities.
• Skills to work across multiple stakeholders and functions to communicate, persuade and deliver results.
• Ability to think big on a vision while being rooted in constant execution.

Strategy :

• Work on identifying and finalizing the offer as per dynamics of each platform in terms of categories or nature of products, price range devising strategy for key sports.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive online sales growth, enhance customer experience, and improve conversion rates. Stay updated on ecommerce industry trends, and customer preferences to recommend innovative strategies and initiatives.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and market positioning.

Project and Performance Management :

• Monitor and analyze impressions, product views, sales data, and customer behavior to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• PNL + Business Piloting.

People :

• Team recruitment and management
• Teammate skills and career development
• Delegation and decision making
• Performance evaluation for team

Stakeholder Management / Collaborations :

• Work closely with Country Sport Teams to select the Offer as per each marketplace platform and develop the Commercial policy to address customer needs launching new products and promotions.
• Work closely with the Supply Chain Team to ensure timely availability of listed products by sharing the forecast in advance for each season.
• Collaborate with Marketplace and internal Marcom Team to devise a robust Commercial communication plan and implement online marketing campaigns, Product listed ads utilizing the budgets effectively..
• Work closely with the Data team to analyse business trends and take appropriate actions to boost business.

Key Deliverables:

• Economic - Turnover, Revenue growth, Profitability, Return rate, Business piloting accuracy.
• Strategic - Offer selection & Product listing, Platform share + Penetration in different geographies.
• Human - Team happiness, Team development (skills matrix), Attrition rate.
• Customer Centricity - Product rating for the assortment cumulatively.
