Job Description:

DataFactZ is seeking a collaborative and inquisitive PowerBI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience in Power BI development, with a strong focus on data modeling, reporting, data visualization, and Paginated Reports. As a PowerBI Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing Power BI reports that provide valuable insights for our clients. You will collaborate with business analysts, gather requirements, and ensure the delivery of high-quality reports and dashboards, including Paginated Reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with business analysts and clients to gather and understand reporting requirements.
• Analyze data, hierarchies, groups, and trends to create informative scorecards, reports, interactive dashboards, and Paginated Reports using Power BI.
• Test and validate the reports and dashboards for accuracy and performance.
• Interpret written business requirements and technical specifications to design Power BI solutions.
• Create and maintain technical design documentation for Power BI projects.
• Implement user mapping and security setups in Power BI to ensure data privacy and access control.
• Develop Paginated Reports for structured, printable, and pixel-perfect reports.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and data structures as needed to improve report performance.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure Agile/Scrum practices are followed during the development process.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other BI developers in the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues as they arise.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4-8 years of experience in Power BI development, including DAX, SQL, and Paginated Reports.
• Proficiency in working with data sources such as CSV, SQL, SharePoint, Excel, and Azure Synapse.
• Understanding of SQL Data Warehousing and data modeling.
• Strong data visualization skills using Power BI desktop.
• Familiarity with Power BI security models and deployment techniques.
• Demonstrable experience working with end users to gather reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure (ADF/Data Lake).
• Familiarity with Power Automate.
• Proficiency in Python.
• A portfolio of example reports and Paginated Reports that you have developed.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Power BI using Azure HD Insight and SQL DW.
• Proven experience in designing and building reports with advanced charts, graphs, and Geo-spatial maps.
• Expertise in user mapping and security setup in Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, databases, and unit testing.
• Solid understanding of Business Intelligence and Data warehousing concepts.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Good to have: Advanced SQL & PL/SQL skills.
• Good to have: Experience with other BI tools such as IBM Cognos/OBIEE, QlikView, Tableau or MSTR.
