Job description

We are looking for a highly qualified accountant with years of experience to lead a team of accountants. The accountant is responsible for implementing accounting systems and processes, preparing monthly financial reports, controlling the master data of the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with the state revenue service.

To be successful as an accountant, you should possess a stable working track record, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be highly knowledgeable in the broad spectrum of accountancy accounting practices. You should also be certified and accredited with the relevant association and governing body.

Responsibilities:

• Accounting
• Knowledge of end to end accounting upto Finalisation of Accounts
• Hands on Experience in Tally Accounting Software ERP 9 & Prime 5.1
• Handling Accounts Payable Invoice Process till payment
• Handling Revenue Invoicing and managing the collections
• Knowledge of applicability of TDS and GST on Sales & Purchase invoices
• Monitoring the preparation of Vessel Debit Notes for Crew related expenses
• Reconciliation of Debit Notes Charged with Supplier Invoice Payments
• Checking & Processing of Superintendents Travel Claims, Reimbursement of Expenses
• Processing of Crew Reimbursement Claims
• Preparation of Annual Financial Statements as per Companies Act,
• Monthly closing and Preparation of Monthly MIS Reports for the management
• Fixed Asset Management and Register preparation and updation
• Depreciation Accounting
• Taxation
• Knowledge of TDS applicable on supplier invoices and payments
• Knowledge of GST input on inputs (supplier invoices)
• Monthly TDS reconciliation and e-TDS payments
• Monthly GST reconciliations both input as well as output
• Monthly GST return filing (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B)
• Quarterly e-TDS return filing
• Annual GST reconciliations and GSTR-9/9C filing
• Assisting in filing the Company Income Tax Return
• Audit
• Assisting in conducting the statutory audit of the company
• Assisting in Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing Audit
• Coordinating with the Auditors for timely conduct and completion of Audit
• Resolving Audit Queries and Providing timely and accurate information to the Auditors
• Preparation of necessary Audit Schedules
• Banking and Treasury
• Timely release of Payments to suppliers through net-banking channels
• Coordination with the banks for various banking related work
• Company Secretarial
• Liaise with the company secretary for various board resolutions and or secretarial work
• Coordinate with the company secretary for minutes, filing annual returns

Requirements:

• Bachelor's / Masters degree in accounting.
• Honor's degree preferred.
• Completion of Articles.
• 10 years relevant experience for B.com or M.com
• Prior working experience in a shipping company with experience in handling corporate accounting of crew management or ship management company
