Lead GIS Specialist

Should be overseeing and managing the Geographic Information System (GIS) team's activities, projects, and personnel. This position requires a deep understanding of GIS technologies, spatial data analysis, and effective leadership skills. Will be responsible for guiding the team in the development, maintenance, and utilization of spatial data to support decision-making processes across various domains

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of GIS professionals, including GIS analysts, technicians, and specialists.

•    Assign tasks, set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
•    Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging professional growth and skill development.
•    Plan, coordinate, and prioritize GIS projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
•    Monitor project progress, allocate resources, and manage project timelines and budgets.
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
•    Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies, trends, and best practices to ensure the team's skills remain current.
•    Provide technical guidance and support to team members on complex GIS tasks, data analysis, and software usage.
•    Oversee the collection, processing, integration, and quality assurance of spatial data from various sources.
•    Develop and implement data management strategies to optimize data utilization and accessibility.
•    Lead the team in performing advanced spatial analyses to derive insights, trends, and patterns from geospatial data.
•    Ensure thorough documentation of GIS projects, methodologies, and processes.
•    Generate reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
•    Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their GIS needs and deliver solutions.
•    Implement quality control procedures to validate the accuracy and reliability of GIS outputs and analyses.

•    Communicate with project manager on all technical, quality, delivery and scheduling matters of the project
•    Overall 10 to 15 years of working experience
•    Strong proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, Smallworld, or similar platforms.
•    Team management experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about spatial data challenges.
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
