Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain database systems, including MS SQL Server.
Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
Ensure database security and integrity through regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and access controls.
Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems.
Participate in database upgrades and migrations.
Work closely with development teams to ensure database compatibility and performance.
Develop and maintain database documentation.
Stay current on the latest database technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
Strong experience with SQL Server, including installation, configuration, and administration.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Experience with database security best practices.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Points:
Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., MS SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and other NoSQL etc.).
Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence, Snowflake.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
