Financial Planning & Analysis (Lead FP&A)

Qualification: MBA from a top-tier college or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CA, CMA)

Experience: 10-15 years of experience in FP&A, with at least 5 years in the biopharma or life sciences industry.

Reporting to: CFO

Skills:

• Expertise in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and decision support.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP (e.g. Oracle, SAP).
• Working knowledge of Tableau or PowerBI
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial data to non-financial audiences.
• Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Budgeting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparing and consolidating departmental budgets.
• Develop long-range financial plans aligned with the companys strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic financial projections.

Forecasting & Analysis:

• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial forecasting processes.
• Provide insights into revenue, expenses, and profitability trends, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts, explaining key drivers.

Strategic Support:

• Develop financial models to support business cases, product launches, and investment decisions.
• Evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
• Support pricing strategies for biopharma products, considering R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory costs.

Reporting & Dashboards:

• Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of key financial metrics and performance indicators.
• Support Board-level reporting by creating impactful presentations.

Business Partnering:

• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams to align financial strategies with operational goals.
• Provide financial guidance and insights to support decision-making across the organization.

Process Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices in financial planning and reporting within the biopharma industry.

Compliance & Governance:

• Ensure financial planning activities comply with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
• Partner with the accounting team for financial close processes and external audits.
