Job Description

Troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):

  • Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.
  • Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard.
  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.
  • Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.
  • Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.

Quality:

  • Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.
  • Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.
  • Perform work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and specifications using various tools, measuring, and testing instruments.
  • Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.
  • Follow all process documentation and quality procedures.
  • Raise issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.
  • Perform quality inspections.

Delivery:

  • Fully proficient in performing troubleshooting, electrical repairs, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conform to applicable codes and standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems.
  • Instruct and coach others and act as an informal resource for team members with less capability.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet business goals.
  • Work with peers and support staff to:
    • Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints.
    • Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements.
    • Solve problems and improve processes.
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Teamwork:

  • Communicate effectively with the assigned team and all support teams.
  • Complete training and personal development in line with business requirements.
  • Participate actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC HMC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, including electrical ,hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication , coolant systems.
  • Conduct inspections and preventative or Predictive maintenance to minimize machine downtime.
  • Coordinate with production staff to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting operations.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and timely ordered shortages required parts. and coordinate with CIP team for spare parts procurements and localization and on time delivery.
  • Train and supervise less experienced maintenance staff as needed. prepares SOPs / One point lessons for important learnings and procedures.
  • Implement maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work on cost saving / energy saving / Kaizens / and promote and initiate to use of green energy in plant
  • Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and maintenance. Ball screw / Table / Fixture / APCs / Guideways / HMCs Spindle / Bearing replacement / Pump - motor replacements repairs and Homing / Backlash / MDI - edit mode uses / of Siemens CNC - Sinumeric 1 and Siemens 828 systems with Siemens TIA Portal V 17 / 18 /19.
  • ATLAS COPCO / DESOUTERS nut runners. / LASER MARKING / GUDEL GANTERY / NAGEL HONNING / ECO Clean Cylinder block and cylinder head washing machine / Intermediate washing machines / TOX Leak test and Cup plug pressing / MARPOSS Gauging system in Nagel / VISION System and End to end traceability / CMES system understanding / Siemens Servo motor / Grundfoss pump motor / VFDs maintenance / CENTRALIZED COOLANT SYSTEM - PUMP out technologies / Over head Cranes 5T / 3T / 2T and .5T / Material Handling equipments /Gauges and MMD calibrations / able to create GHOST Backups of IPCs on regular interval and backup management of PLC/CNC and other Programs / able to read and understand the ckt. diagrams of electrical / Pneumatics / lub / coolant and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical circuits.
  • Knowledge of tooling and work holding systems relevant to HMC operations.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machine tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Backup management / Software management / I4.0 automations and others
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints and other maintenance documentation work.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA safety, CNC machining) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Effective communication, teamwork, and time management abilities. And able to report collection related to maintenance facilities parameter and prepare and share MIS on weekly /basis

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience with specific brands or models of CNC HMCs. - MAG / MAKINO / MAZAK
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment. in Cylinder block and head manufacturing.
    Working Conditions:
    * Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as required. with self motivated and positive attitude.
    * Physical ability to lift heavy machinery components and perform tasks in confined spaces.
    * Follow Cummins Safety Policy and standards

    Shift : This is a rotational shift role.

Qualifications:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Education: Technical diploma /certification in mechatronics engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Experience: 5-7 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, specifically with CNC machines, preferably HMCs.
  • Expertise in CNC machines, especially on Siemens TIA portal.

  • Controls Safety: Recognizes controls-related hazards in a manufacturing environment (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) to incorporate safe practices and procedures as part of the daily work plan to reduce injuries and create a safe machine environment.
  • Electrical System Troubleshooting: Analyzes an electrical control system to resolve and repair electrical issues to return the system to proper operating conditions.
  • Factory Automation and Control Systems: Implements changes to further automate manufacturing processes using available technology, programming techniques, and identifying needed material and resources for project completion to provide the optimum automation for the manufacturing environment.
  • Machine Programming: Creates factory floor machine programs by designing and implementing solutions to improve usage of machine and overall operation.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the functions needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
