The Demand Planning Specialist will coordinate the creation of Demand Plans for use in Integrated Business Planning within each small to mid-sized business and/or Line of Business. This role leads the development of rolling 36-month forecasts and supports the 5-year demand forecast to facilitate strategic and aggregate planning processes.
specialist liaises and consults with Sales, Marketing, Brand/Product Organizations, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure a robust demand planning process and collaborates with the Demand Control Leader to analyze near-term order trends and their impacts on longer-term forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the integrity of the Demand Plan and promptly implement corrective actions to ensure stability; escalate issues as necessary.
Manage cross-functional and cross-business unit interactions to ensure dependable and efficient demand management, including daily operations.
Use knowledge of Business / Customers / Markets / Products to challenge Demand Plan assumptions effectively and improve the robustness of the plan.
Drive assumption management in the demand planning process.
Lead continuous improvement projects aligned with the Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction, leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems.
Support corporate demand management initiatives and lead the global business unit demand planning process to ensure alignment.
Manage consolidated sales projections for volumes and financial implications in monthly demand planning and strategic planning processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support the annual operating planning process.
Create common demand management processes and procedures through collaborative business partner relationships.
Strategically and tactically address daily problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities to meet performance targets.
Develop, understand, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Manage, coach, and develop staff, setting goals for training, development, performance, and career planning.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience.
Green Belt certification preferred.
Essential Experience:
Proficiency in demand management and understanding of Integrated Business Planning processes.
9 years of experience in relevant roles.
6S Green Belt certification or willingness to train.
Desirable Experience:
Expertise in project management and understanding of supply chain processes.
Knowledge of the aftermarket business.
