Design Engineer- Automotive - Plastic design (CATIA)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Engineer / Sr. Engineer (Two-Wheeler Technologies)

Responsibilities:

• Participate in all stages of the two-wheeler product development process, from concept design to production. (Sr. Engineers may take on more responsibility in leading technical aspects of specific projects.)
• Work closely with project leads, engineers, designers, and other team members to translate project requirements into detailed and manufacturable designs.
• Utilize CATIA software to create accurate 3D models and 2D engineering drawings of two-wheeler components (body, exterior, seating, lighting, etc.).
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate to optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. (Sr. Engineers may provide guidance and mentor junior engineers in this area.)
• Perform engineering calculations to ensure designs meet structural, safety, and performance requirements.
• Analyze and interpret CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) results, proposing solutions to address potential design issues. (Sr. Engineers may have a more in-depth role in analyzing complex CAE data.)
• Stay up-to-date on new design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to the two-wheeler industry.
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant vehicle regulations and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• For Engineers: 5-8 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the automotive or two-wheeler industry.
• For Sr. Engineers: 8-12 years of experience in design engineering, with a proven track record of leading technical tasks and mentoring junior engineers.
• Proficiency in CATIA software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of design principles, engineering calculations, and tolerance analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation. (Sr. Engineers may be expected to demonstrate a higher level of problem-solving expertise.)
