Background Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities would be as follows
  • Develop & Mature CRISIL Platforms
    1. Responsible to manage product roadmaps for Crisil Platforms
    2. Individual will be responsible for Platform maturity and ensuring that platform teams are aligned towards common organisational goals
  • Develop and Maintain Architecture Standards:
  • Define enterprise architecture strategies and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) to guide technology solutions for both internal teams and client engagements.
  • Ensure consistency in the architecture approach across various projects, including managed services and staff augmentation engagements.
  • Lead architectural governance, ensuring that all solutions align with clients long-term strategic goals and technical standards.
  • Client Engagement & Advisory:
  • Act as the primary technical advisor to clients, understanding their business needs, defining architecture roadmaps, and ensuring the alignment of technical solutions to meet those needs.
  • Lead architecture reviews for key projects and ensure the enterprise architecture aligns with each client s future-state business goals.
  • Advise clients on emerging technology trends, cloud adoption, and digital transformation, tailoring solutions to their unique business contexts
  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies:
    1. Stay ahead of industry trends (cloud computing, AI, ML, IoT, blockchain) and integrate relevant technologies into both internal and client architectures.
    2. Drive innovation within the firm, identifying opportunities to modernize legacy systems and processes for clients through scalable, forward-looking architectural solutions.
  • Technology Strategy and Roadmap:
    1. Collaborate with business and IT leadership to create multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps.
    2. Assess current technology landscape and develop modernization plans for legacy systems.
    3. Promote cloud-first and hybrid technology strategies where appropriate, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Operational Excellence
    1. Establish processes and KPIs to track the performance of delivery teams, ensuring alignment with both internal goals and client expectations.
    2. Continually optimize delivery practices to improve resource utilization, reduce costs, and enhance the client experience.
    3. Ensure that COE teams are delivering value esp. incase of staff augmentation initiatives
    4. Partner with HR and recruitment teams to attract, develop, and retain top technical talent for both managed projects and staff augmentation needs.
    5. Align with the executive team on growth strategies, ensuring delivery and architecture practices support the firm s business objectives
  • Pre-Sales Support:
    1. Collaborate with business development and account teams to design solution architecture proposals, present technical solutions to prospective clients, and support contract negotiations.
    2. Assist in crafting RFP (Request for Proposal) responses, statements of work (SOWs), and other documentation related to project scoping and technical architecture
  • Delivery Leadership:
    1. Lead and manage the delivery of large-scale, complex IT initiatives from inception through to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    2. Work closely with Program/Project Management teams to ensure projects are delivered on time,within budget, and meet quality standards.
    3. Ensure that both staff augmentation resources and project teams are aligned with the clients objectives and technology roadmaps.
    4. Identify and mitigate risks and issues that could impact project delivery.
    5. Ensure Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery practices are implemented effectively
  • Resource Management
    1. Build and lead a high-performing team of enterprise architects and delivery specialists (COE).
    2. Develop talent, manage performance, and ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and tools to meet objectives.
    3. Collaborate with HR and recruitment teams to attract, develop, and retain top talent in architecture and delivery roles.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    1. Engage with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and delivery strategies.
    2. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on the implications of architectural and technical decisions.
  • Executive Communication:
    1. Present architecture strategies and delivery progress to C-suite executives, ensuring clarity on the benefits, risks, and trade-offs of technology investments.
    2. Provide regular updates on project health, architecture maturity, and strategic initiatives.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Technical Skills
    1. Application Skills
      1. Proficiency in Java (Java 8 or later) and Java-based technologies such as Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, etc.
      2. Knowledge of Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot, Play Framework, etc.
      3. Experience with Java-based build tools such as Maven, Gradle, etc.
      4. Architecture and Design:
      5. Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and principles (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture, etc.)
      6. Experience with designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance Java-based systems *Apache Camel, MuleSoft, etc.
      7. Cloud and Containerization:
      8. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
      9. Knowledge of containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
      10. Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as serverless computing,
    2. Data engineering Skills
      1. Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, and data security
      2. Experience with designing and implementing data architectures, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data pipelines
      3. Experience with Apache Spark SQL
      4. Experience with ETL & Compute tools
      5. Experience with designing and implementing data integration pipelines
      6. Familiarity with big data technologies, data cataloging and metadata management
      7. Knowledge of NoSQL databases
      8. Familiarity with distributed file systems
    3. Experience with data analytics and machine learning frameworks
    4. Fair understanding of Gen AI Frameworks
  • Qualifications
    1. Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred.
    2. 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    3. Proven track record of successful delivery of complex IT solutions across a large, matrixed organization.
    4. Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices, APIs, and integration frameworks.
    5. Solid experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
    6. Certifications: TOGAF, ITIL,

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align architecture with business objectives and long-term organizational strategies.
  • Client Engagement: Strong communication skills, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients and articulate complex technical solutions.

  • Leadership: Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring staff, and driving performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate effectively with executives, stakeholders, and technical teams.
