Sr. Manager - Finance & Accounts
Position Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounts, Finance, and Taxation Manager to oversee and manage the financial and accounting operations of the organization.
- This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, overseeing the preparation of financial reports, and optimizing tax strategies.
- The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial management, taxation laws, and accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management:
- Oversee the preparation and management of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Supervise the accounting team and coordinate their activities.
- Manage the company's general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements for senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and other financial activities to ensure the company's financial stability.
Taxation Management:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and other taxes.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review and update tax strategies to optimize tax liability and ensure tax planning compliance.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors for any tax-related matters.
- Keep up-to-date with changing tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Manage tax audits and resolve any issues that arise.
Financial Planning & Budgeting:
- Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Prepare detailed forecasts and monitor financial performance against budgetary goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations on cost-saving initiatives and revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and address discrepancies between budgeted and actual performance.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
- Review and enhance financial procedures to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Assign tasks and monitor team performance, providing feedback and guidance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development opportunities for team members.
External Relations:
- Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Coordinate with banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions for financing and business-related matters.
- Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure timely and accurate submissions of financial and tax information.
Key Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, or CMA) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, finance, and taxation, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, tax planning, and compliance.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think critically and provide strategic financial advice to senior management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
