Test Automation Engineer

Job Description:

As an Automation Tester, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality of software applications. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions. The role involves creating and maintaining automated test frameworks, identifying and reporting defects, and ensuring the overall reliability of the software.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation Development:

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright using Python.
• Design and execute automated test cases to validate functionality, performance, and security, concurrent testing aspects of software applications.

Framework Development:

• Design and implement scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks such as Cucumber BDD Framework, Data Driven frameworks.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of custom testing frameworks to meet specific project needs.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
• The role requires proficiency in creating detailed test reports using Extent Report or Allure Report, and a strong understanding of Pytest, parallel execution, Page Object Model (POM), Object Repository, and Data-Driven testing.

Test Strategy and Planning:

• Collaborate with QA and development teams to create test plans and test strategies for both new and existing features.
• Provide input on the selection of appropriate testing tools and technologies.

Defect Identification and Reporting:

• Identify, document, and prioritize defects in a timely manner.
• Work closely with development teams to reproduce and troubleshoot reported issues.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on testing progress, issues, and risks.

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in test automation using Playwright & Python
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience in developing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Experience in MS-SQL (SELECT and CURD operations)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes.
• Understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge in Performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Strong API testing tools such as POSTMAN, REST API.

Additional Skills (Good to Have):

• Knowledge of mobile testing automation tools (Appium).
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Intermediate experience of using Microsoft Azure cloud and Database connection establishment.
