Quality & Hygiene Manager Converge

Delhi NCR, Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Quality & Hygiene Manager for Converge-managed food halls, this position ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation and food safety across all operations in the region. This critical role involves developing and implementing hygiene policies, food safety standards and quality control processes, conducting regular audits, training employees and ensuring strict compliance with local health and safety regulations.

Additionally, this role not only sets high standards of food safety but also works with key stakeholders to prepare and execute initiatives and action plans. These include but are not limited to functions such as finance, procurement, facilities, and operations. By fostering a culture of hygiene excellence, this role is vital in providing a safe, hygienic and best-in-class welcoming environment for customers and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities

Hygiene Standards Implementation

  • Develop, implement, uphold hygiene protocols and procedures in line with industry best practices and local regulations
  • Monitor and enforce cleanliness standards across all areas, including food preparation, storage, and service zones
  • Create and manage emergency response plans for food safety incidents.
  • Establish and implement cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Conduct microbiological lab testing periodically and document

Compliance Management

  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including food safety laws
  • Manage regional legal compliance and implement the latest guidelines as directed by the regional regulatory authorities
  • Act as the primary liaison with health inspectors and regulatory authorities during inspections and audits
  • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement

Staff Training and Awareness

  • Design and deliver training programs on hygiene and food safety for employees
  • Promote and maintain a culture of hygiene awareness across all departments
  • Conduct vendor-based product training for respective food hall departments

Customer Focus

  • Analyse customer complaints and feedback trends to strategize and implement measures regularly
  • Design processes that align with brand experiential standards, customer satisfaction, and F&B visual aesthetics
  • Provide clear and visible communication in the food halls about hygiene standards, such as cleanliness certifications, safety seals, or cleaning schedules
  • Introduce customer satisfaction surveys specifically focused on hygiene and cleanliness

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of hygiene practices, cleaning schedules, audit findings and test reports (monthly and quarterly)
  • Prepare and submit regular hygiene and safety reports to management
  • Conduct pre-deployment and post-deployment vendor facility audits and document corrective actions

Incident Management

  • Investigate hygiene-related incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns related to food safety and hygiene
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in food safety practices

Procurement and Inventory

  • Oversee procurement and inventory of cleaning supplies, sanitizers and related materials while maintaining appropriate stock levels
  • Ensure proper storage and usage of perishable and non-perishable food materials, cleaning chemicals, and supplies

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with respective property operations, maintenance and HR teams to address hygiene-related challenges effectively
  • Lead pest control programs and ensure compliance with established hygiene standards
Work Environment

This is an on-site role requiring oversight of cleanliness and hygiene practices across multiple food hall locations. The position involves travel within the region, with occasional evening and weekend work based on operational demands.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduction in non-compliance issues identified during audits
  • High scores in hygiene and safety inspections
  • Successful implementation of training programs across all staff levels
  • Timely and effective resolution of hygiene-related incidents

This position is essential in maintaining Converge s reputation as a subject matter expert in food hall management, while ensuring a safe, clean, and inviting experience for all patrons and employees.

Preferred qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in food safety, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Certifications in HACCP, FSSI Food Safety, or other relevant food safety standards (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in hygiene management, food safety, or related roles, preferably within the hospitality, food, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of hygiene regulations and food safety standards
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration
  • Meticulous attention to detail
