We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Data Science Teaching Fellow. This role involves providing support to students by addressing their queries, assisting the tutor in classroom activities, and actively contributing to curriculum development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create engaging educational materials.
Responsibilities:
Student Support: Assist students in understanding complex data science concepts, clarifying doubts, and providing additional explanations or examples as needed.
Personal Assistance: Work closely with the tutor to support their teaching activities, including preparing materials, and providing feedback on student performance.
Content Creation: Develop quizzes, class notes, presentations, projects, and case studies to enhance the learning experience and reinforce key concepts covered in the curriculum.
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the instructional team to update and improve the data science curriculum, incorporating the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students on data science projects, assignments, and career development opportunities.
Classroom Management: Assist in organizing and facilitating classroom sessions, workshops, and study groups, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all students.
Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student assignments, projects, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey and academic progress.
Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of developments in data science, exploring new methodologies, technologies, and resources to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Solid understanding of data science principles, techniques, and tools, such as Python, R, SQL, machine learning, and data visualization.
Previous experience as a teaching assistant, tutor, or mentor in a data science-related role is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Proficiency in creating educational materials, including quizzes, presentations, and projects.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
