Job Description: ADLM DevOps Engineer

An ADLM (Application Development Lifecycle Management) DevOps Engineer is a professional responsible for optimizing and automating the processes involved in the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications throughout their lifecycle.

Job Title: ADLM DevOps Engineer

Job Summary: The ADLM DevOps Engineer plays a crucial role in streamlining and automating the end-to-end software development lifecycle. This includes collaborating with development, testing, and operations teams to enhance efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and ensure the reliability and scalability of software applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on ADLM.
• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Octopus, Bamboo, bitbucket, JFrog Artifactory) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Groovy).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of ADLM tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Octopus, Bamboo, bitbucket, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, Salt Stack, Veracode, and Nexus).
• Source/Version Control: SVN, Bitbucket, Github, and TFS
• Build Tool: Ant Maven, MS Build, Gradle, and RPM Build.
• Code Coverage/Analysis: SonarQube, Dot cover.
• Configure & Artifactory Management: JFrog Artifactory, Salt Stack.
• Deployment Tools: Octopus, Bamboo, Jenkins, and TFS deployer.
• Automation Testing: Junit, NUnit, Ready API, Selenium, and JMeter.
• Monitoring Tools: alert site, Nagios, app dynamics, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Kibana, ELK stack).
• Understanding of security principles and practices in a DevOps environment.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Groovy).
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Docker Certified Associate).

Responsibilities:

1. Unix, and Linux Operating Systems

• In-depth knowledge of Unix and Linux Operating Systems.
• Proficient in managing and configuring Linux-based servers for application deployment.
• Strong command-line skills for troubleshooting and debugging on Unix/Linux platforms.

1. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of applications.
• Integrate CI/CD tools with version control systems to automate code merging and releases.
2. Configuration Management:
• Implement and manage configuration management tools for infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure consistency across environments.
• Automate the provisioning and configuration of development, testing, and production environments.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to understand requirements and implement solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth software development lifecycle.
4. Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
• Implement monitoring solutions to track the performance and health of applications in real-time.
• Analyze performance metrics and implement optimizations to improve application responsiveness and reliability.
5. Security and Compliance:
• Implement security measures throughout the development lifecycle to safeguard applications and data.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices related to application development and deployment.
6. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
• Leverage skills in systems and diagnostics to trace and triage issues in various environments.
7. Automation Scripting:
• Develop automation scripts for routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Script and automate repetitive tasks related to deployment, testing, and infrastructure management.

• Good programming knowledge -Java, Python, or any scripting languages like Shell/Bash

1. Documentation:
• Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and procedures related to the ADLM infrastructure.
• Train team members on best practices and procedures related to DevOps processes.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to rapidly changing priorities and workloads

• Comfort in working with team members that are remote and located in the US, India or other geographies.
