Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Statistician and Psychometrician to join our team. The successful candidate will lead psychometric research, assessment design, and analysis for our educational assessments and personalized adaptive learning platforms. The role involves developing adaptive assessments, conducting psychometric analyses, and optimizing the algorithms that power our learning platforms.

Lead the development of adaptive and diagnostic assessments for a personalized adaptive learning platform.
Collaborate with instructional designers and subject-matter experts to design psychometrically sound assessment items aligned with learning goals.
Conduct item calibration and scaling using Item Response Theory (1PL, 3PL, and 4PL models) and Cognitive Diagnostic Models (CDM).
Perform differential item functioning (DIF) analysis to ensure fairness and equity in assessments.
Evaluate and improve psychometric properties of adaptive learning assessments.
Design and enhance algorithms for Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) and personalized learning pathways using multi-dimensional models.
Integrate psychometric models with machine learning approaches for dynamic content recommendation.
Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to ensure seamless implementation of adaptive systems.
Analyze large-scale data to assess the reliability, validity, and efficacy of assessments and learning interventions.
Provide actionable insights to enhance the user experience on the adaptive learning platform.
Conduct simulation studies to evaluate and optimize adaptive algorithms.
Partner with interdisciplinary teams, including educators, data scientists, and product managers, to align psychometric designs with user needs.
Train internal teams on psychometric methods and the integration of assessment data into adaptive learning solutions.
Mentor Junior researchers and statisticians

Qualifications

Education: PhD (Preferred) or Master s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Educational Measurement or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in psychometric analysis, adaptive learning platforms, or large-scale assessments.
Experience in developing AI or ML-driven solutions for education is highly desirable.

Skills:

Advanced knowledge of psychometric theories, including IRT, CTT, and CDM.
Prior experience in developing and using computerized adaptive (CAT) methods.
Regression analysis, SEM, HLM, Bayesian modelling, and multivariate techniques.
Proficiency in machine learning techniques relevant to education (e.g., classification models, predictive analytics)
Demonstrated experience in programming languages such as R, Python, and familiarity with ML tools and techniques
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Outcome-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail
Effectively communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences, including peers, stakeholders, and non-technical audiences.
