Head/ Leader - Highway Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Regional Office to oversee all operations at our Navi Mumbai office. The role requires a senior professional with a strong background in highway design engineering, experience in managing teams, and an ability to interact effectively with clients and other stakeholders. This position will involve strategic leadership, project management, technical expertise in highway engineering, and the ability to represent CEG to key stakeholders, ensuring seamless office operations and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the day-to-day activities of the Navi Mumbai regional office.
• Set strategic objectives for the office and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of all projects.
• Foster a positive and productive working environment, ensuring high team morale and efficient collaboration.
• Lead complex highway design projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with regulatory standards, and adherence to project timelines.
• Review, approve, and ensure quality of project deliverables such as DPRs, feasibility studies, and detailed designs for highways.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in highway engineering.
• Oversee the progress of multiple projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with the project teams (design engineers, draftsmen, etc.), ensuring that all technical and managerial resources are allocated efficiently.
• Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, provide regular updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent client relations and timely resolution of issues.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
• Build, guide, and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and support staff.
• Provide training and professional development opportunities for the team.
• Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and ensure the team is aligned with CEG's standards and project goals.
• Contribute to business development efforts, identify new opportunities, and promote CEGs services to new clients.
• Support proposals, tenders, and project bids for new and ongoing work in the highway sector.
• Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and safety standards for all office activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Masters degree in transportation engineering
• Experience: At least 20 years of experience in highway design engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within the civil engineering consulting sector.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in highway design, DPR preparation, feasibility studies, and detailed design consultancy (DDC).
• Proficiency in using software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other related design and modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of highway engineering standards, including geometric design, pavement design, drainage systems, traffic management, and environmental considerations.
• Managerial & Leadership Skills:
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams across multiple projects with diverse skill sets.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in client-facing roles and managing client relationships.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality and operational efficiency.
• Ability to drive business development and contribute to the growth of the organization.
• Certifications (Preferred): Membership in professional engineering bodies such as the Institution of Engineers (India), Chartered Engineer status, or other relevant certifications is a plus.
