Corporate Lawyer - IT (8-12 yrs)

- We're looking out for a lawyer with 8-12 years of experience, confident in handling pushback, and possessing strong stakeholder management skills.

- This role is a 6 to 9 months secondment based in Chennai, with a hybrid work model.

- The client is a global IT giant with offices across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

- The role involves supporting a team of employees across multiple offices in a full-time, generalist capacity.

- The professional will be directly reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary.

- Key responsibilities include managing employment matters, real estate, corporate filings, and contracts, liaising with the dedicated immigration team, and supporting corporate operations in India.

- Draft, review and negotiate technology-focused agreements such as SaaS, CaaS, VaaS, Professional Services Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, Licensing Agreements, equipment hire agreements, on-prem license agreements and trademark licensing agreements.

- Draft, review and negotiate all kinds of commercial contracts with customers, business partners/ suppliers.

- Work closely with global stakeholders in HR, IT, Sales, and Procurement.

- Advice on aspects of competition laws and work with global teams across jurisdictions such as the US, Europe and Asia regions.

- Will have to engage with different business stakeholders to advise on operational/ commercial issues. Also, helping to strategize and address issues pertaining to litigation, if necessary.

- The ideal professional for this role would be capable of working autonomously, with experience in collaborating across departments like finance, HR, and operations, both in India and the US. While travel is not a regular requirement, it may be necessary on occasion.
