Security Patching Engineer (Immediate Opportunity)

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Security Patching Engineer with experience in vulnerability management and patching solutions, specifically with tools such as Qualys or Ivanti ISC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective deployment of security patches across the organization's systems to mitigate vulnerabilities and safeguard against cyber threats. Key responsibilities include managing patch schedules, conducting vulnerability assessments, coordinating with IT teams for patch application, and monitoring patch compliance. The engineer will also analyze patching data to identify risks, triage errors/failures and work proactively to improve security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and implement security patching processes using Qualys or Ivanti ISC.

Perform vulnerability assessments and prioritize patching based on risk levels.

Review, share and action Cyber threat intelligence to proactively remediate patchable/software vulnerabilities.

Ensure timely deployment of patches across workstations and servers.

Collaborate with IT and security teams to test and apply patches.

Monitor and Triage patch compliance, and address issues related to failed patch deployments.

Provide regular reporting on patching status and vulnerabilities.

Conduct root cause analysis on system errors or inefficiencies in EDFT patching configuration and methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong experience with Qualys or Ivanti EPM for vulnerability management and patching.

Knowledge of patch management lifecycle and best practices.

Familiarity with endpoint security, operating systems, and network security.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when reviewing complex vulnerabilities and critical systems.

Strong experience in System Administration, manual patching or system error-based problem solving.

Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar).

Experience using Qualys.

Experience using Ivanti ISC.

Experience in Windows 10 and 11 workstation administration and root cause analysis.

Experience in Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022 administration and root cause analysis.
