Role Overview:
As a Splunk Observability Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Splunk Observability solutions to provide real-time insights into application performance and infrastructure health. You will leverage your expertise in Splunk Cloud and observability principles to create dashboards, alerts, and integrations that meet customer requirements. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of cloud-native technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Splunk Observability solutions, including APM (Application Performance Monitoring) and RUM (Real User Monitoring).
- Configure and deploy Splunk architecture changes and components as required.
- Develop and customize dashboards and alerts based on customer requirements.
- Integrate data from various sources into Splunk Observability, setting up traces, metrics, and log integrations.
- Onboard data from different metrics within cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues.
- Perform log and trace analysis to identify performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues.
- Create and configure detectors within the Splunk Observability tool.
- Work with cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless computing.
- Understand and apply AWS and GCP architecture and services.
- Manage and administer Splunk Cloud environments.
- Utilize Splunk Cloud developer and admin skills for configuration and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain scripts (Shell, PowerShell, Python, SQL/BigQuery) for automation and data manipulation.
Required Skills and Experience :
- 8+ years of experience in Splunk development and administration, with a focus on observability.
- Extensive experience with Splunk Observability APM and RUM onboarding.
- Strong Splunk Cloud developer and admin skills.
- In-depth understanding of observability principles (metrics, logs, traces).
- Experience with data collection and ingestion from various sources.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, serverless computing).
- Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise/Splunk Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and GCP architecture and services.
- Proficiency in Shell and PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with scripting languages (SQL/BigQuery, Python).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech), Master's degree in Engineering (M.Tech), or Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
