Sr. QA Engineer

We are seeking a Sr QA Engineer to join our growing team!

Position Overview

The Manual QA position involves starting the day with a daily Scrum meeting to discuss progress and address any blockers.

The role includes reviewing and updating test cases, executing test plans, and documenting results.

Manual QAs log defects in the tracking system, collaborate with developers to resolve issues, and retest fixes to ensure defects are resolved.

Additionally, they engage with product owners and business analysts to align test cases with product requirements and participate in sprint reviews and retrospectives. Continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends are also key components of the role.

In this role you will:

• Own and lead testing for a product or product line, including developing test strategies and identifying risks.
• Develop and document comprehensive application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
• Record and document test results, comparing them to expected outcomes. Communicate with development and product teams regarding discrepancies between actual and expected results.
• Independently set up the test environment and troubleshoot any environmental issues.
• Generate historical analyses of test results to track performance and trends.
• Document anomalies and issues encountered during testing.
• Maintain a database of software defects, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Participate actively in product planning meetings.
• Investigate bug reports from the customer support team, differentiating between data or configuration issues and actual software defect.
• Document confirmed software bugs with detailed test cases and outcomes, narrowing the specific scope of the defect through testing multiple variables
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and transition into automation QA, including acquiring new skills and knowledge in automated testing tools and frameworks.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or a related field.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated individual who excels in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Capability to establish and implement comprehensive QA processes for a product.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems or the education domain is advantageous.
• Master's degree in computer science or relevant Engineering degree.
