Cloud Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:
The SRE ensures that both internally critical and externally visible systems have reliability and uptime appropriate to user s needs and a fast rate of improvement while keeping an ever-watchful eye on capacity and performance. SRE helps in applying engineering approaches to have a better production systems and build own creative engineering solutions for operational problems. SRE also focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. Follow Practices such as limiting time spent on operational work, blameless post-mortems and proactive identification of potential outages factor into iterative improvement that is key to both product quality, and interesting, dynamic day-to-day work.

Year Of Experience: 4 Years to 8 Years

Perform operational tasks in the Azure platform, including managing cloud resources (VMs, App Services, AKS, etc. ), monitoring performance, and ensuring the optimal functioning of the cloud environment using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
Manage identity lifecycle, including provisioning, modifying, and deactivating user access using Azure Active Directory (AAD). Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and enforce security policies to manage access to resources effectively.
Respond promptly to cloud incidents, including performance degradation, outages, and security alerts. Provide support to service engineers and stakeholders to resolve incidents quickly, leveraging Azure Incident Management and monitoring tools.
Configure and manage Azure environments based on best practices. Automate deployment and configuration of infrastructure using Bicep, Terraform, Azure CLI, and PowerShell to ensure consistent and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
Implement security measures and best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data in the cloud. Manage Azure Key Vault, implement encryption strategies, and adhere to industry-standard compliance frameworks (e. g. , GDPR, HIPAA).
Monitor Azure resource utilization and optimize infrastructure to reduce cloud costs. Implement cost-effective strategies using Azure Cost Management and provide recommendations on resource scaling.
Design and implement disaster recovery plans, including data backup strategies, replication, and ensuring high availability across cloud regions.
Collaborate with internal teams (e. g. , Developers, Operations, Security) to ensure alignment of cloud architecture with business objectives. Maintain accurate documentation for cloud environments, infrastructure, and troubleshooting procedures.

Specific Assignments:
Perform Cloud Operations on the Azure platform.
Manage access request provisioning and approval.
Respond to cloud incidents and provide support to service engineers
Perform Environment build and configurations
Implement security measures and best practises
Manage identity lifecycle management
Implement Well Architected framework architecture

Skills required:
Think about systems - edge cases, failure modes, behaviours, specific implementations.
Know your way around Windows, Azure and Power Shell.
Good knowledge on Networking and network infrastructure.
Strong proponent of documenting things so you dont need to learn the same thing twice.
Have an urge to build automation and tooling so that you never have to do the same work twice.
Have experience with various Cloud providers like Azure, AWS, GCP etc. , their systems, products and APIs.
Have an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude. When you see something broken, you cant help but fix it.
Have an urge for delivering quickly and iterating fast.
