You will be expected to lead on editorial plans, ideas, initiativesand deployments and not always wait for someone more senior to kickstart these processes
To organize and deploy reporters and producers to ensure thebest possible coverage of stories across all platforms in the region
They shouldensure reporters provide daily news coverage and generate strong exclusive,exciting stories that work on digital and social media platforms
Lead on risk assessments and active production help on majordeployments
To look beyond the daily news agenda to commission rich, variedand original material across all platforms
To maintain a daily/weekly/monthly diary of important newsand other non-news events in
the target area and to plan ahead for proper coverage/deployment
To motivate teams to come up with original content ideasas well as creative digital treatments
To keep abreast of evolving (news) stories and emerging trendsand brief other editors
To help identify first rate multilingual journalists who cancontribute across BBC platforms
To help develop and promote new working practices to meet theneeds of a fast-changing market
To plan and ensure availability and the most efficient useof resources
This is a hands-on role; you will need to write and sub bigstories etc and help oversee digital video production when needed
Lead on and organize editorial meetings in an effective andmethodical way
