Junior Engineer - Installation

Role Overview:

The Junior Engineer - Installation will be responsible for assisting in the installation, wiring, and commissioning of robotic automation systems. This role requires hands-on work at customer sites, ensuring that robotic cells are properly set up, tested, and made operational.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Setup:

• Assist in robot mounting, alignment, and positioning on factory floors.
• Lay out and connect power, communication, and I/O wiring between robots, PLCs, and sensors.
• Assemble and install robot safety enclosures, conveyors, and support structures.
• Assist in the integration of robotic end-effectors (grippers, welding torches, etc.).

2. Electrical & Mechanical Integration:

• Support electrical engineers in panel wiring, cable routing, and field wiring for sensors and actuators.
• Assist in testing and troubleshooting electrical circuits.
• Understand robotic motion limits, tool center points (TCP), and safety parameters.

3. On-Site Commissioning & Testing:

• Assist in initial power-up, sensor calibration, and I/O verification.
• Support engineers in basic robot jogging, homing, and manual movement testing.
• Verify network communication between robot controllers, PLCs, and HMIs.

4. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed logs of installation progress, issues, and resolutions.
• Support in creating installation checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Work closely with service and programming teams to ensure smooth handover after installation.

Key Skills Required:

• Basic understanding of industrial robots and automation systems.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, cable management, and circuit testing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Basic troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components.
• Hands-on experience with tools like multimeters, torque wrenches, and alignment tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma/Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 0-2 years of experience in industrial automation installation or commissioning.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at customer locations.
