Senior PLC & HMI Engineer (3-5 yrs)

Job Description :

Roles and Responsibilities :

PLC Programming & System Development :

- Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs for Modicon controllers using ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.

- Design, develop, and implement HMI/SCADA applications using AVEVA System Platform (formerly Wonderware System Platform).

- Integrate PLC and HMI/SCADA systems with plant equipment and industrial networks using Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP.

Testing, Commissioning & Troubleshooting :

- Perform system testing, commissioning, and validation of automation systems.

- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to PLC, HMI/SCADA, and instrumentation.

- Ensure system performance, reliability, and efficiency through continuous improvements and upgrades.

Documentation & Compliance :

- Create and maintain accurate documentation, including system architecture, functional specifications, and test procedures.

- Ensure all automation systems comply with industry safety standards and regulations.

Collaboration & Project Support :

- Provide technical support to project teams, ensuring successful completion of automation projects within deadlines and budgets.

- Work closely with engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth operation of automated processes.

Skills and Qualifications Required :

Education & Experience :

- 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.

- Hands-on experience with AVEVA System Platform (formerly Wonderware System Platform).

- Proficiency in Modicon PLC programming.

Technical Skills :

- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP).

- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.

- Excellent troubleshooting skills in PLC/HMI systems.

- Familiarity with industrial automation best practices and safety standards.

Soft Skills :

- Ability to work independently and within a team.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with other PLC brands such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens.

- Knowledge of data acquisition and reporting systems.

- Experience working with SQL databases and query languages.

- Industry experience in manufacturing, water, or oil & gas sectors
