Job Description

We are seeking a highly driven and versatile Business Lead to act as the right hand to the founder in scaling an AI-powered App Modernization startup. This role is ideal for someone with a unique combination of technical, analytical, and sales skills who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in market analysis, sales operations, and lead generation, and be willing to go above and beyond the call of duty with 100% ownership and least supervision.

You will play a critical role in crafting market strategies, managing sales operations, and generating leads, while also contributing to high-level business decisions. If you are a proactive problem solver who is ready to work closely with the leadership team and drive revenue growth, this role is for you.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis
    • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify opportunities in the BFSI, Healthcare, FMCG, Retail, and eCommerce sectors.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
    • Develop and present data-driven recommendations to support go-to-market strategies and product positioning.

  • Sales Operations Management
    • Oversee and streamline the entire sales pipeline, ensuring efficient lead management and CRM optimization.
    • Work closely with the sales team to manage key accounts, track performance metrics, and forecast sales trends.
    • Develop and refine sales processes to increase efficiency, reduce friction, and improve conversion rates.
    • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline health, and customer acquisition cost (CAC).

  • Lead Generation and Outreach
    • Develop and execute lead generation strategies to identify and target high-value prospects in BFSI, Healthcare, FMCG, Retail, and eCommerce domains.
    • Utilize multiple channels (LinkedIn, email campaigns, webinars, etc.) to generate qualified leads and move them through the funnel.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create sales collateral (pitch decks, demo videos, sell sheets) tailored to different industry verticals.
    • Build relationships with potential clients and nurture leads through personalized outreach and follow-ups.

  • Strategic Support
    • Act as a strategic partner to the founder, providing insights on market trends and business performance.
    • Participate in high-level decision-making related to product development, market entry, and growth strategies.
    • Support with project management, ensuring timely execution of strategic initiatives across teams.

You should have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required), MBA in Sales & Marketing (preferred).
  • 3-8 years of experience in market analysis, sales operations, or business development roles.
  • Proven track record of managing and optimizing sales processes, including CRM management and lead generation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling pitches and sales materials.
  • Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with the BFSI, Healthcare, FMCG, Retail, or eCommerce industries is a plus.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile with full ownership to meet business goals.
  • Self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a startup environment and open to tackling new challenges.
  • Passionate about driving business growth and contributing to overall strategy.
