Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and visionary - Observability Lead- to define and drive our organization's observability strategy. This leadership role is integral to ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems and applications. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in monitoring, incident management, IT Service Management (ITSM), and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership and Strategy :

- Define and implement an end-to-end observability strategy to enhance system health, performance, and reliability.

- Continuously improve observability practices, aligning them with business goals and industry best practices.

Monitoring & Alerting :

- Oversee the deployment and management of state-of-the-art monitoring tools for applications, infrastructure, and services.

- Ensure real-time visibility into system performance, enabling proactive detection and resolution of issues.

Incident Management & ITSM :

- Integrate observability data with ITSM tools to streamline incident detection, diagnosis, and resolution.

- Minimize service disruptions by improving incident management processes.

Tool Selection & Implementation :

- Evaluate and implement cutting-edge observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK Stack).

- Standardize tool usage across teams to maximize efficiency and consistency.

Cross-functional Collaboration :

- Collaborate with Development, Operations, Security, and other teams to embed observability best practices throughout the SDLC.

- Promote a culture of observability across the organization.

Process and Performance Optimization :

- Develop and optimize processes for monitoring workflows, incident response, and observability maturity.

- Use observability insights for proactive performance tuning and cost optimization.

Project Management :

- Lead observability-focused projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.

- Champion Agile methodologies and manage project-related tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Training & Mentorship :

- Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering a high-performance culture.

Key Skills and Qualifications :

Experience :

- 10+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Technical Expertise :

- Proficiency in observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK Stack, etc.).

- Deep knowledge of ITSM processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).

- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform).

Project Management :

- Proven ability to manage complex technical projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

- Expertise in incident management workflows and root cause analysis (RCA).

Collaboration & Communication :

- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

- Ability to simplify and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Problem-Solving & Leadership :

- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

Certifications :

- ITIL Certification or equivalent in ITSM frameworks.

- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect).

- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).

Advanced Tools & Practices :

- Experience with OpenTelemetry, AIOps, and AI/ML-based anomaly detection.

- Expertise in DevOps practices and cloud-native architectures.
