Role Overview PMO

The PMO Executive will lead the establishment and management of the Project Management Office (PMO) for water system projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and enhancing decision-making through data-driven insights. This role involves standardizing project management processes, supporting business decisions with robust analytics, and enabling the successful delivery of projects within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Reporting to the Project Delivery Head, the PMO Executive will act as a key liaison between project teams, stakeholders, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. PMO Development and Governance

• Establish and implement PMO processes, standards, and templates tailored to water system projects.
• Develop governance frameworks to ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of project management methodologies and improve practices based on feedback and outcomes.

2. Data Analytics and Business Decision Support

• Leverage data analytics to monitor and evaluate project performance metrics, trends, and predictive insights.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for actionable insights to support business decisions by the Project Delivery Head.
• Analyze historical project data to identify areas for cost optimization, efficiency improvement, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data is collected, cleaned, and analyzed effectively for informed decision-making.

3. Project Planning and Resource Management

• Collaborate with project Executives to develop schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Use data-driven forecasting techniques to predict resource needs and prevent bottlenecks.
• Ensure optimal utilization of human, financial, and material resources across projects.

4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Establish KPIs to monitor project performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide timely and insightful reports on project status, risks, and opportunities to the Project Delivery Head and senior management.
• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve project outcomes.

5. Risk and Issue Management

• Implement a robust risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and address project issues proactively, escalating critical matters to the Project Delivery Head when required.

6. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

• Serve as the central point of contact for project-related communications and decision support.
• Facilitate collaboration between internal teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead project review meetings, steering committees, and workshops to ensure alignment.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Conduct post-project evaluations and implement lessons learned for continuous process improvements.
• Promote the use of advanced technologies and analytics tools to optimize project delivery.
• Stay updated on trends in water systems, data analytics, and project management to drive innovation.
