Role Overview Business Analyst

The Business Analyst for CAPEX Projects plays a critical role in the financial and operational management of capital expenditure initiatives. This includes analyzing project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI) while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role involves working closely with project Executives, finance teams, and stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and facilitate the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of CAPEX projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Feasibility and Planning

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and business requirements.
• Conduct in-depth feasibility studies, including cost-benefit and risk analyses, for proposed CAPEX projects.
• Develop financial models to evaluate project viability, potential savings, and ROI.

2. Budgeting and Cost Management

• Assist in creating project budgets aligned with organizational financial goals.
• Monitor and analyze project expenditures, providing recommendations for cost control and optimization.
• Prepare detailed financial reports to support project approval processes.

3. Presenting Insights for Decision-Making

• Compile and present comprehensive reports tailored to ease decision-making for senior management.
• Design intuitive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to summarize data insights.
• Provide well-supported recommendations on proposed decisions, highlighting key metrics, trends, and scenarios.

4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Define KPIs and metrics to track CAPEX project progress and performance.
• Create periodic progress and variance reports, highlighting risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
• Facilitate decision-making by presenting insights on project alignment with strategic goals.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the central point of communication between project teams, finance, and leadership.
• Facilitate workshops and review meetings to gather feedback and align expectations.
• Clearly communicate the financial and operational implications of decisions and recommendations.

6. Risk and Compliance Management

• Identify and analyze risks impacting CAPEX projects, proposing proactive mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies related to capital expenditures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of financial analyses and project decision points for audits and reviews.

7. Process Improvement and Innovation

• Identify opportunities to streamline CAPEX management processes and reduce inefficiencies.
• Leverage digital tools and data analytics to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness.
