We are looking for Business Development Manager having experince in

selling Compute / Network /storage solutions / Data Center.


Job Title: Business Development Manager - Data Center Technology.


Location: Mumbai


Reports to: Director of Sales / VP of Business Development


Department: Sales / Business Development


Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Data Center Technology will be responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and expanding market presence in the data center technology sector. This role involves selling advanced data center solutions, including hardware, software, and infrastructure services, to enterprise clients, cloud service providers, and other key markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Strategy:
    • Identify new business opportunities, target markets, and prospective clients within the data center industry.
    • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitors to build and refine the business development strategy.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Lead sales efforts by actively prospecting and developing relationships with clients in the data center technology space.
    • Present and demonstrate data center solutions, including infrastructure, cooling, power, storage, and networking products.
    • Manage the sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives.
    • Achieve and exceed revenue targets through both new business and existing client growth.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, including CTOs, CIOs, IT Directors, and procurement teams.
    • Develop deep technical and business understanding of client needs to position solutions effectively.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by offering tailored solutions that address data center challenges and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partnerships & Alliances:
    • Work with technology partners, vendors, and service providers to offer comprehensive data center solutions.
    • Identify and develop strategic partnerships that can accelerate business growth and enhance the company's offerings.
  • Proposal & Contract Negotiations:
    • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals).
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company policies and profitability goals.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, product, marketing) to align sales efforts with product capabilities and customer expectations.
    • Provide feedback to the product team on market needs and emerging trends to guide product development.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and market opportunities.
    • Provide regular updates to management on key initiatives, sales forecasts, and competitive analysis.

Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in business, information technology, engineering, or related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the data center or IT infrastructure industry.
    • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through strategic business development.
  • Skills:
    • Deep understanding of data center technologies including infrastructure, cloud computing, colocation, networking, and related services.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate client needs into actionable business solutions.
    • Experience in managing long sales cycles and complex deals.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Attributes:
    • Strong customer-focused mindset with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
    • Self-motivated, with strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

  • New business generated (revenue)
  • Number of new clients acquired
  • Client retention rate and upsell opportunities
  • Sales pipeline development and closure rate
  • Contribution to overall company growth and market expansion

Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission/bonus.
