ClearSource is seeking a CAD Technician. This role will be responsible for supporting the Product department with CAD/CAS with 3D modeling and 2D engineering drawings. As part of this responsibility, the CAD Technician will become familiar with and document the existing product line as well as create CAD data for new product innovations. The typical scope of work for a project would consist of creating 3D CAD, 2D drawings, and BOM creation. In addition, this role will service the design team with image and render creation as well as conversion of Industrial design artwork into parametric models and drawings. This role requires a high level of organization, creativity, attention to detail, and CAD/drafting knowledge to successfully launch innovative features and products consistently. This person will be involved in collaborative activities as well as effectively communicating project progress and information with the wider team. This position will work in the MT time zone unless otherwise directed and will report into team members at the SLC HQ. Responsibilities: Create robust 3D CAD model parts and assemblies that communicate design intent, function, and manufacturability. Create, detail, and manage 2D engineering drawings that meet industry standards. Perform Tolerance stack analyses. Image and render creation. Modeling of competitive products. Convert industrial design art into parametric 3D models and 2D drawings. Drawing conversions for adaptation with partner fabrication services. Pre and post process of FEA and CFD under supervision of the Product Engineers. CAD data conversion into Solidworks (ex Creo to Solidworks) Supplier conversion to Traeger standards Qualifications: Successful candidates will typically have the following skill set: Associates/ bachelor s degree in CAD design/Engineering Technology or similar Strong 3D modeling skills including the sheet metal modeling environment Familiar with surfacing techniques Familiar with sheet metal, machining, injection molding, casting, and welding manufacturing processes. Familiar with rendering tools such as keyshot Proficient using SolidWorks, PDM, and PLM applications Solid understanding of engineering drawing/drafting standards and practices Efficient and highly productive in creation of 2d and 3d CAD assets PC literate in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work with teams cross functionally knowledgeable in drawing standards and tolerance stack analysis Ability to communicate ideas verbally and through sketches and presentations or report
