Job Title: Head - Engineering & Product Development (Printed Electronics)

Key Deliverables

• Developing and defining companys 'strategic direction for product development, and future growth plans for its Printed Electronics Business.
• Analyzing key industry trends, technologies, risks, competitive threats and significant issues that may create opportunities for, or inability to deliver on objectives.
• Establish strategic relationships with necessary technology partners and develop potential sales channels and alliances with strategic partners focused on printed, flexible, stretchable & organic electronics applied in many industries: wearable sensing, healthcare, soft robotics, automotive and human computer interfaces
• Creating value propositions for Naxnova printed electronics technology portfolio and driving sales-related partnerships with smart medical technology, automotive, smart manufacturing, Internet of Things (IoT) and consumer electronics for product commercialization.
• Define strategic technology plan ensuring alignment with global marketing plan. Build & maintain relationships with all relevant external technology organizations, both domestic & international; including value chain partners and suppliers.
• Responsible for developing new products, product enhancements and product redesign as per customer requirements.
• Evaluating the potential and practicality of products in development and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Creation of task book, specifications documents as well as material release documentation.
• Guide the Material Development Laboratory by implementing accordingly if required any new material testing method.
• Establishing & identifying innovative projects to meet customer requirements & exploit market inefficiencies.
• Representing company in all Printed Electronics related technical institutions/ organizations.
• Execution of technology strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, and external relationships - contribute towards the research & development, as well as project programme management. Where technology partnerships are not possible, must lead the effort to build it in-house.
• Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations.
• Playing key role in technology transfer to the company from the technology partners in order to build their own products using their knowhow.
• Will be responsible to build commercial products, as required by the Business development team.
• Define development time & time to market” for new & existing products.
• Knowledge transfer, prototype & scale up for new product development to manufacturing.
• Developing and execute “go to the market” strategy to meet Customers’ needs

Experience &

skill set

• Expertise in hybrid printed electronics, thermoforming, Film Insert molding technology and In Mold Electronics.
• Broad material knowledge covering from plastics, adhesives. as well as electronics materials considered as an asset.
• Ability to do material characterization of various samples provided and enable to decode competitor products.
• Excellent problem-solving mind set.
• Thorough knowledge of Material characterization & analytical methods like FTIR, rheometer, tensile tests…
• Strong leadership with a passion to succeed & stretch the imagination of the technical team.
• Ability to provide leadership in a climate of innovative technological change.
• Clarity of approach. Must have a natural tendency to approach problems and challenges in a structured sequential way.
• Must be a visionary in terms of advancing technology platforms and goals.
• Experience in productizing newly developed products from development lab to manufacturing.
• Proven know how with respect to scaling up production from the lab to manufacturing

Qualification

• M.Sc./MTech. in Electrical / Electronics
• 18 - 20 yrs of experience in Product &/or Material Development in Automotive or Medical field.
• Should have understanding of Materials which are used in Flexo, Nano and Printed Electronics Technology.
• Good experience in new product development. Proficient in developing products as per automotive standard (Dummy to prototype to full product validation.)
• Previous Automotive product validation experience (in Films, Inks, Adhesives, Connectors etc.) considered as an asset.
• Should be aware about Methodology of Validation and Troubleshooting.
• Should be able to establish Process, Template and Guidelines for Form Sheets.
• Strategic selling & business development experience in next-gen and technologies for flexible, stretchable and formable electronics.
• Advanced knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies for Printed Electronics; including wearable & sensing applications - enablers of ubiquitous sensing for IoT.
