Horticulture Supervisor

Tasks:

• Assisting with landscape maintenance, restoration, and design
• Installing and cultivating functional and ornamental plants
• Transplanting and pruning shrubs and small trees
• Weeding landscape beds and assisting with mulching
• Identifying and treating potential pests or diseases
• Installing and repairing irrigation
• Assessing forests and bushes for rehabilitation and data gathering
• Harvesting seeds and cultivating young trees and plants
• Collecting field and control samples of roots
• Measuring forest and agriculture metrics on ongoing basics
• Seeding and planting
• Garden clean ups, deadheading, light pruning, watering, and seasonal annual planting

Should have knowledge of:

• Horticulture and plant identification
• Irrigation installation and repair
• Construction and building materials such as carpentry
• Math and science skills
• Calculating growth rates
• Identifying plants, plant pests, and the ideal growth conditions for plants
• Have knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide application.
