Purchase & Sourcing - Assistant/ Manager

Academic : -

• Undergraduate or Postgraduate from reputed institute

Technical / Professional : -

• Proven experience in fabric /made-ups, trims & accessories sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of various home textile fabrics & made-ups.
• Excellent Negotiation and Communication Skills.

Required Skill Set : -

• Male/Female candidate with good knowledge in textile
• 5+ years Experience in Textile Industry in Procurement of Trims and Accessories.
• Should be from technical background, thorough knowledge of fabric/trims/accessories used in Home Textile & Apparel industry.
• Should have strong analytical, negotiation, contracting and communication skills.
• Should have adequate skills to develop and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies for the company.
• Ability to think strategically so that the company can take advantage of business processes, industry dynamics, supplier experiences, and manufacturing practices, and general market conditions, etc.
• Ability to perform financial analysis of the cost of every sourcing.
• Ability to work with various levels of suppliers from the local and international market.
• Excellent teamwork skills and proven aptitude to partner effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., top management, colleagues, suppliers, and internal/external customers).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities : -

• Developing vendor base & build relationships with vendors and key suppliers. Negotiate to minimize the cost of materials and get the best possible price.
• Negotiating price & contract terms for continuous & in time supply of the materials. Supervise every negotiation and provide guidelines to prepare documents for purchasing and making a contract.
• Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices. Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations
• Contribute towards enhancing profitability by making availability of quality materials on time, controlling or reducing costs, improving payment terms, reducing inventory and optimizing supply chain efficiencies.
• Develop a sourcing plan for both for local and international sources, so that fast and effectively sourcing operations are possible. Monitor sourcing strategy and change the strategy according to the market condition.
• Need to ensure that the decision-making process is supported by technical and functional knowledge of the category and leading-edge analytical methods which encompass people, systems and financial measures.
• Coordinate with Designers, Merchandising team, Product development, production planning and inventory team, for existing/new product developments and trends forecasting. Coordinating with Fabric producing mills, vendors and suppliers for quality and timely delivery of fabrics/Trims/Accessories.
• Perform and analysis Monthly forecasting report to ensure and maintain acceptable inventory level.
• Coordinate with logistic personnel to ensure proper shipment delivery.
• Evaluation of quality of raw materials so that right quality materials can source.
• Should be able to handle independently purchase of raw materials
• Traveling to full-fill job responsibilities is a part of this role.
• Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English, Hindi and Tamil is preferred.
