1. Key Accountabilities

Major Activities / Tasks

I. Patient Management

• Provide clear and compassionate explanations of CT scan procedures to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Position patients accurately and safely for optimal image acquisition, considering potential limitations and following radiation safety protocols.
• Operate CT scanners proficiently, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Monitor patients closely during scans and promptly address any concerns or discomfort they may experience.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the scanning area.

II. Technical Skills

• Operate and maintain various CT scanner models proficiently, staying up-to-date with advancements in CT technology.
• Perform a range of CT scans, including head, chest, abdomen and other specialized studies as needed.
• Ensure image quality meets established standards, identifying potential artifacts or technical issues requiring adjustments.
• Assist with image reconstruction and archiving within the PACS system.
• Participate in routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment.

III. Communication and Collaboration

• Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions clearly and calmly.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and contribute to patient care plans.
• Document patient procedures, imaging results, and observations accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record system.

4. Skills & Knowledge

Educational qualifications:

Diploma / Certification in Radiology

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in performing CT scan
