Deal sourcing and support: The roleholder is responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities byactively searching for promising startups in their respective industries. Thisinvolves attending industry conferences and events, reviewing business plansand pitch decks, and monitoring industry news and trends.
Due diligence: Expected to conductthorough due diligence to evaluate the viability and potential of the portfoliocompanies. This includes researching the industry, analysing the startupfinancials, and assessing the teamcapabilities.
Investment evaluation: Based on the duediligence, the role holder shall make recommendations to the senior teamregarding whether to invest in the startup. This involves creating financialmodels and preparing investment memos to present to the investment committee,in due course leading the deals and take full ownership of the deals.
Portfolio management: The role holderalso plays a key role in managing the firmexisting portfolio of investmentsand lead them eventually. This involves working closely with portfoliocompanies to provide strategic guidance and support, and tracking theirprogress against key metrics, eventually manage the respective portfolio leads.
Reporting: The role holder is alsoresponsible for preparing regular reports and updates for senior management andinvestors on the performance of the portfolio companies and the overallinvestment strategy of the firm.
Networking: The role Holder is expectedto build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, other investors, andkey industry players to stay informed on the latest trends and opportunities.
Industry Research and Thought Leadership: Stay updated on the latest trends, innovations, and disruptions within the definedsector, and share insights with the investment team and the wider communitythrough thought leadership pieces, presentations, and participation in industryevents.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate withother members of the investment team to collectively drive the firmsinvestment strategy, share insights, and contribute to the growth of theoverall VC ecosystem.
Overall, this role holder plays a critical role insourcing, evaluating, and managing potential investment opportunities, supportin exits, and eventually lead the deals independently over a period timegaining relevant experience. Healthtech is most prefered. May also involve fund raising rolecontributions support along with the deal lead/fund raising leads, if required.The role requires a combination of financial, analytical, and interpersonalskills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
